Joseph Altuzarra won the top prize of the Vogue Fashion Fund. All the world’s renowned designers gathered to witness the announcement of the Vogue Fashion Fund winner. This award ceremony was conducted by the Fashion Designer Council of America. There were ten nominated designer labels. Diane von Furstenberg was also witnessed to be attending the ceremony, and she paid special attention to Altuzarra.
Altuzarra is a young designer who has been serving the clothing market for more than two years. Given is inexperience, he was not nervous at all during the entire evening. Calvin Klein gave a lengthy speech that seemed amusing and interesting, telling the gathered designers about his past experiences, regarding unions and gangsters. The hall was filled with new designers and models that are probably not even aware of the meaning of Gambino. The past winners including Rogan Gregory, Phillip Lim, Billy Reid, Jack McCollough, Sophie Theallet and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler also attended the gathering.
Rooney Mara announced the winner, first mentioning that jewelry designer, Pamela Love, was runner-up. Mr. Altuzarra, who got an award of $300,000 along with mentoring, seemed to be extremely satisfied by his accomplishment. After the award ceremony, he seemed speechless in front of the media. Today, the fashion industry promises to protect and offer unlimited opportunities to fresh designers.
