Canada has recently become an important place for fashion and style. It had long been joked that Toronto was America’s northern and less fashionable neighbour, but this has now been overridden by the fashion production and events that have occurred there over recent years. This event held in the David Pecaut Square and was filled with the early fall cold, but incredibly hot and stunning new looks for early (and a warmer) next year.
Five incredible new looks were introduced at the 2012 fashion event. The first of these is floral, admittedly a recurring theme for every summer and spring, but with some incredible new twists which will take all by surprise. With an extensive variety in patterns and colours, it’s going to be hard to go too far wrong with flowers in the spring time.
Modern sheer styles were a notable addition. Sheer consists of flowing, translucent garments and presented strongly in Toronto wear with some incredible new looks, from blouses to full length dresses.
Black and White appeared as strong as ever with striking contrast and some psychedelic new patterns that would look pretty good on almost anyone, and can transcend time of day in way colours simply can’t.
Eye-popping colours came back a little brighter and a bolder this year than ever, and you will be able to warm even the coldest times with these recently released Toronto favourites. Sunshine yellow, royal blue, an emerald green will be on display everywhere by early spring in Canada.
The last feature that has come over greatly in the last several years is bold cuts. Jersey and Grecian-inspired shoulder-less dresses made strong appearances again and came on better than ever in this amazing and heart chilling fashion show. Smythe, Joeffer Caoc, Caitlin Power, and Pink Tatan all made talking points of their work at the event, and are leading the charge for Canadian fashion in 2012.
